Hi
Visualizations are COM DLLs and follow all the normal rules of installation and removal. You can use regsvr32.exe or other installation tools to register your visualization.
It is recommended that you install all visualizations in the Visualizations subfolder of the folder where Windows Media Player is installed.
go to this folder 'C:Program FilesWindows Media Player' and select the folder named Visualizations.
Open the folder named Visualizations in Explorer; there you will see the dll files corresponding to the visualizations you want to remove among others you may want to conserve. Note that the visualizations built-into the player do not have dll files in this folder.
You will need some OpenGL Knowledge and to install the Windows SDK,

or

Once you know which dll correspond to the visualization you want to remove, return to the command window and unregister the dll file with this command:
regsvr32 /u 'name of the file.dll'
Note that the quotes are only necessary of the dll file name contains spaces.
Now you can delete the dll file you unregistered.
Finally, open Windows Media Player and check the if the Visualization list is now as you like it. But now.. the .dll file still remains on your system, so you want to delete it.
thanks for the info, i don't want to make a visualization, i already have the videos. Effectively I want to be able to 'play' a video in the background while my music playlist plays as normal. Is there a way to do this?
Click this link and follow it. you will be able to change it
That just shows you how to change to another visualization already installed in media player. I want to add my own videos to it..
